I’m from Mexico City. I studied medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. Then I got licensed as a gastrointestinal surgeon at Universidad de Guanajuato. At the time, I developed an interest in minimally invasive surgery because of the additional benefits to the patients. So, I trained in laparoscopic surgery at the Karl Storz Surgical Training and Research Center of the American British Cowdray Medical Center (Centro Médico ABC) and l’Université Libre de Bruxelles, Bélgica.

I’m cheerful, enthusiastic, and persistent; I enjoy the outdoors, movies, music, and sports, especially cycling.
